Corporate wellness in Brighton: a simpler way to help teams move, reset and reconnect
Workplace wellbeing does not need to be complicated.
Sometimes people simply need an opportunity to step away from their screens, move their bodies, breathe and reset.
That is the idea behind Wild Thing at Work.
Wild Thing is a Brighton based wellbeing brand offering accessible corporate wellness, workplace yoga, movement, meditation and breathwork sessions for organisations across Brighton and Hove.
Our sessions are designed for real teams and real working days.
You do not need to practise yoga.
You do not need to be flexible.
And you do not need any previous experience.
You just need a little space to move.
Why workplace wellbeing matters
How people feel at work matters.
The CIPD’s 2025 research, based on 5,017 UK working adults, found that 23% often or always feel exhausted at work and 21% often or always feel under excessive pressure. It also found that around a quarter feel work negatively affects their mental and physical health. (CIPD)
That does not mean a yoga session can solve every workplace wellbeing challenge.
It cannot.
Workload, management, relationships, workplace culture and wider organisational practices all matter. The same CIPD research identifies high workloads, excessive pressure, exhaustion and poor workplace relationships among the factors associated with employees feeling that work negatively affects their health. (CIPD)
Workplace yoga should therefore sit alongside, not replace, a wider approach to employee wellbeing.
Can yoga support wellbeing at work?
Research has examined how yoga may support wellbeing and stress management in working populations.
A 2025 systematic review and meta analysis focused specifically on yoga interventions for desk based workers. Fifteen studies were included in the review, with 11 studies involving 1,123 participants included in the meta analyses. (DOI)
Compared with passive control groups, yoga was associated with improvements in:
psychological wellbeing
physical wellbeing
perceived stress
sleep quality
musculoskeletal discomfort (DOI)
Importantly, the researchers also noted that the evidence remains preliminary because of differences between studies, methodological limitations and risk of bias. They concluded that stronger research is needed before firmer conclusions can be drawn. (DOI)
That distinction matters to us.
We do not believe workplace yoga should be presented as a cure or a solution to every wellbeing challenge.
It can simply be one useful way of creating time for people to move, breathe and step away from the working day.
What do people say about yoga and workplace stress?
A separate 2024 qualitative study explored the experiences of 13 people who practised yoga regularly.
Participants described yoga as contributing to their wellbeing and helping them cope with stress. Breathing practices were repeatedly identified as an important part of that experience. (PubMed Central (PMC))
Because this was a small qualitative study based on participants' experiences, it does not establish that yoga directly caused those outcomes.
What it does provide is a useful insight into how people themselves describe the role yoga can play in their working and everyday lives.
What does corporate yoga actually look like?
Forget the image of a perfect yoga studio filled with experienced yogis.
A Wild Thing workplace session is designed around the people in the room.
A session can combine:
move
Accessible yoga, mobility and movement to help people get away from prolonged sitting and reconnect with their bodies.
breathe
Simple breath led practices that create a moment to slow down.
reset
Guided relaxation and space away from screens, meetings and the working day.
reconnect
A shared experience that gives colleagues time together outside the usual rhythm of work.
Sessions are designed to be accessible to complete beginners as well as people who already practise yoga.
Corporate wellness for people who do not do yoga
This is important to us.
One of the biggest barriers to yoga can be the belief that you need to already be good at it.
You do not.
Wild Thing is built around making movement and wellbeing feel welcoming rather than performative.
There is no pressure to achieve a pose.
There is no expectation that everyone has practised before.
There is no competition.
The aim is simply to create space for people to:
move. reset. reconnect. belong.
Why bring wellbeing into the workplace?
Convenience matters.
Even when people want to prioritise movement and wellbeing, busy working days can make it difficult.
Bringing a session directly into the workplace can make participation simpler by reducing the need for employees to travel somewhere else before or after work.
It also creates an opportunity for wellbeing to become something people experience together.
For us, that shared element matters.
Wellbeing is not only about individual performance.
It can also be about connection, awareness and creating moments where people feel able to step away from the usual demands of the day.
